Public Relations Campaigns
As the community relations specialist, I was part of some great public relations campaigns.

The purpose of these campaigns was to celebrate different departments and employees of Scotland County.
National Nurses Week
Every year from May 6th to 12th, nurses are recognized for their service and dedication to caring for others and improving the health of patients nationwide through National Nurses Week. Throughout the week, healthcare organizations celebrate their teams, and you'll even see nurses featured on the news. People across the nation thank the nurses that have made a difference in their lives.

Nurses Week celebrates the effort, dedication, and sacrifice nurses make every day. Nurses are essential members of America's healthcare workforce who provide care through every stage of life, working with patients at their most intimate and vulnerable moments. Nurses Week offers a chance to highlight and celebrate nurses for all that they do.
In May of 2023, the Scotland County commissioners adopted a proclamation recognizing National Nurses Week. This was a big deal for our local nurses. For this campaign, I sat down and interviewed the Scotland County Health Director, Amanda Deaver, and Director of Nursing, Dona Page. During the interview, Deaver and Page discussed the importance of National Nurses Week and the upcoming celebrations for nurses.

National EMS Week
May 21-27, 2023, was the 49th annual National EMS Week. In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities. This year's theme was EMS: Where Emergency Care Begins.
NAEMT partners with the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) to lead annual EMS Week activities. Together, NAEMT and ACEP worked hard to ensure that the important contributions of EMS practitioners in safeguarding the health, safety and well-being of their communities are fully celebrated and recognized.

In May of 2023, the Scotland County commissioners adopted a proclamation recognizing National EMS Week.

For this campaign, I interviewed Scotland County Public Safety Director, Robert Samson, who discussed the history and importance of National EMS Week.
